1. Age Spots (also known as liver spots) – applying coconut oil directly to the age spot will help it fade.

2. After Shave – coconut oil will help heal your skin after shaving without clogging pores. Great for razor burn!

3. Baldness – apply three times a day to affected area of hair loss. Coconut oil supports cell regeneration.

4. Birth Marks – can be used after a laser removal treatment to aid in healing. Can also be applied after an apple cider vinegar treatment to help support and aid the fading process.

5. Body Scrub – mix coconut oil and sugar together and rub all over! Rinse off and your skin will be super soft! You can add in essential oils if you would like a specific smell.

6. Bruises – applied directly to the bruise, coconut oil enhances the healing process by reducing swelling and redness.

7. Bug Bites – when applied directly to a bug bite, coconut oil can stop the itching and burning sensation as well as hasten the healing process.

8. Burns – apply to burn site immediately and continue applying until healed. Will reduce the chances of permanent scarring and promotes healing.

9. Chapstick – just rub a little into lips and it not only acts as a softening agent but it also has an SPF of about 4 so you get a little protection!

10. Cradle Cap – having issues with dry skin on your baby’s scalp? Coconut oil will not only nourish your baby’s skin, it also helps eliminate cradle cap. Just rub a teaspoon onto scalp daily.

11. Dandruff – coconut oil soaks into the scalp moisturizing dry skin and relieves symptoms of dandruff. It also helps to control oil secretion from the scalp, another leading cause of dandruff.

12. Deodorant – coconut oil alone can be used as a deodorant, but even more effective in combination with cornstarch/arrowroot powder and baking soda!

13. Diaper Salve – very comforting on a rashy bum with no harsh chemicals. Also safe for cloth diapers.

14. Exfoliator – coconut oil mixed with sugar or sea salt is a very nourishing and effective exfoliator and safe to use all over the body.

15. Eye cream – apply under the eyes to reduce puffiness, bags and wrinkles. Use on the lids in the evening.

16. Face Wash/ Soap – mix equal parts coconut oil with olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil and castor oil and use in place of soap when washing your face. Wet face, rub oil in and leave on for two minutes, rinse and pat dry. One teaspoon should be adequate.

17. Hair conditioner/ Deep Treatment – use as a leave-in hair conditioner by applying a teaspoon of coconut oil to your ends and then running your fingers through your hair to distribute the rest! For a deeper treatment, rub in a tablespoon of coconut oil onto your dry scalp and gently work through to the ends. Put a shower cap on to prevent transfer onto bed linens and leave on overnight.

18. Hair Gel/ Defrizzer – rub a little between your palms and either scrunch into hair (for curly hair) or finger comb in through from scalp to ends (for wavy/straight hair).

19. Healing - when applied on scrapes and cuts, coconut oil forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus. Coconut oil speeds up the healing process of bruises by repairing damaged tissues. Plus, it smells a heck-of-a-lot better than anything from the pharmacy.

20. Lubricant – it is an all-natural, perfectly safe personal lubricant. Not compatible with latex!

21. Makeup Remover – use a cotton swab and a dab of coconut oil and you would be amazed at how well it works!

22. Massage Oil – pretty simple; grab some and rub!

23. Moisturizer – simply scoop some out of the jar and apply all over your body, including neck and face.

24. Mole Remover – when applied after an apple cider vinegar compress for several weeks, moles have been known to “slide off” or just disappear.

25. Nipple Cream – works great to nourish cracked, sore or dry nipples. Apply to a cotton ball and leave on your nipples between feedings.

26. Oily Skin Fix – prone to oily skin or an oily T-zone? Use a pea sized amount underneath makeup or alone to reduce the appearance of oil.

27. Pre Shampoo Treatment for Hair – rub a little into scalp and hair before shampooing. This is especially useful for those with course or frizzy hair.

28. Pre-Shave – coconut oil will prep skin for the pending damage caused by shaving.

29. Skin Problems – coconut oil relieves skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.

30. Stretch Mark Cream – coconut oil is great at nourishing damaged skin. It may not be the magic stretch mark cure but it will help.

31. Sun Burn Relief – rub liberal amounts of coconut oil into the affected area.

33. Swimmers Ear – mix garlic oil and coconut oil and put a few drops in affected ear for about 10 minutes. Do this 2-3 times a day and it usually works within one or two days.

34. Tattoo Healing and Moisturizer – continued use of coconut oil on tattoos will help keep the pigment from fading. Used on new tattoos, coconut will hasten the healing process and decrease the chance of infection.

35. Toothpaste – there are numerous recipes out there but I just mix coconut oil and baking soda and dab a little of the mix on my toothbrush.

36. Wrinkle Prevention and Wrinkle Reducer – rubbing coconut oil on winkles and sagging skin helps strengthen the connective tissues to bring back that youthful look!



Coconut Oil for General Health and Wellness

37. Breastfeeding – for breastfeeding moms, consuming 3 ½ tablespoons of coconut oil daily will enrich the milk supply.

38. Bones and Teeth – coconut oil aids in the absorption of calcium and magnesium leading to better development of bones and teeth.

To prevent this just put coconut oil in you nostrils. Coat your finger with coconut oil and then lie down and coat your finger inside your nose. Doing this will strengthen and protect the capillaries in the nasal passages. A Vitamin C supplement will also help prevent nose bleeding.

Maisha ni safari ndefu yenye mabonde na milima. Wote tunataka mafanikio maishani, lakini si wote tunaofahamu jinsi ya kufikia mafanikio na kutimiza ndoto zetu. Hivyo, wengi wetu huishi kama bendera kufuata upepo na kushindwa kuamua nini tunataka. Muda wetu maishani hupotea bure bila mafuaa ya msingi.
Je mafanikio ni nini ? Au unawezaje kujua kuwa umefanikiwa ?
Mafanikio ni nini siwezi sema maana ni swala binafsi na kila mtu ana vigezo vyake, lakini nafahamu njia za kuelekea kwenye mafanikio. Mafanikio yanajumuisha vitu vingi sana vidogo vidogo ambavyo vikifanywa kwa ufasaha unaweza kufikia malengo yako.
Ukiachana na kuweza kupata mahitaji muhimu ya chakula, malazi na mavazi, kuna vigezo tofauti nilivoainisha hapa chini.

Kuwa na dira

Mafanikio hupatikana baada ya kuwa na malengo thabiti na kuanza kuyafanyia kazi. Maana asiyejua muelekeo huenda popote kama mwendawazimu.
Maisha bila malengo ni kupoteza muda katika kufanya vitu vingi visivyo na tija. Usipokuwa na malengo maishani utatumika zaidi katika kuwasidia wale waliojiwekea malengo yao. Maisha hayabadiliki kwa mbio za panya bali kwa kuelewa wapi unataka kwenda na kufanya juhudi kufika huko. Hii ndio dira maishani.

Kutimiza wajibu

Kutimiza wajibu ni swala la msingi katika kuleta maendeleo binafsi na jamii. Lakini ni muhimu zaidi kufanya kazi kwa moyo wote na kwa utashi wako wote ili matokeo yake yawe mazuri zaidi.
Watu wanaofanikiwa ni wale wanaojitoa ili kuweza kutimiza kazi zao, majukumu na malengo yao waliyojipangia maishani. Ni watu wanaofanya zaidi ya wanacholipwa kwa sasa ili kuweza kupata zaidi ya wanachostahili hapo baadae.

Kuwa na malengo

Mafanikio huja kwa watu wenye malengo na mipango ya muda mrefu maishani. Hawa ni watu wanaojenga maisha ya baadae sasa. Wanakuwa na ndoto zinazohusisha maisha yao ya miaka 5 hadi 10 ijayo kwa kuanza kuchukua hatua muhimu za kujiendeleza na kufikia huko sasa.

Kuwa na mahusiano bora

Maisha huwa rahisi kama una watu karibu yako. Mafanikio hayana tofauti, ili kufanikiwa unahitaji mahusiano. Hapa umuhimu si bora mahusiano, bali ni mahusiano bora. Yale mahusiano yenye kukujenga na kukukuza kifikra kila siku. Unahitaji watu wenye fikra zinazorandana na zako pamoja na uwezo mkubwa kukuongoza na kukupa mbinu tofauti za kufikia malengo yako.
Mafanikio yanahitaji moyo sababu ni safari ndefu, unapokuwa na mahusiano bora inarahisisha kupata moyo na kufahamu jinsi ya kuruka vihunzi, hasa kipindi mambo yakienda mlama.

Mahitaji ya kiroho

Kila binadamu anahitaji muongozo wa kiroho. Kushiba kiroho ni hatua ambayo humfanya binadamu akue kifikra na kuweza kuwa na matumaini zaidi katika maisha. Hii hali humfanya mtu aweze kupambana na vikwazo akiwa na shauku ya ushindi.
Busara, uelewa na kupevuka akili huanza kwa kufahamu nafasi yako kiroho. Unaweza kufanya mengi bila kukua kiroho, lakini hautoridhika kama utakapochukua hatua ya kukua kiroho.

Mchango kwa jamii

Binadamu wote tunategemeana. Uwe katika hali yeyote ile, una umuhimu wako. Na kila mtu ana nafasi ya kuchangia kwa jamii. Kuishi bila kuwa na faida kwa jamii ni hasara. Binafsi naamini mafanikio ni pale unapoweza kuchangia kuinuka watu wengine zaidi katika safari yako ya mafanikio.
Binafsi naamini kuwa mafanikio ni ile hali ya kuona kuwa maisha yako na  yale uyafanyayo yana mchango mkubwa, si kwa maendeleo yako pekee, bali kwa maendeleo ya watu wengi zaidi.
Kama nilivyogusia kwenye makala iyopita inayosema Je unajitambua, ni kuwa, ukianza safari ya kujitambua, mchango wako utakuwa dhahiri kwa jamii husika. Anza leo kujitambua ili uweze kufikia malengo yako maishani.
Nakutakia safari njema kuelekea kwenye mafanikio ya maishani mwako.
Je, wewe ni mtu ambaye unafanya jambo halafu baadaye ukija kuulizwa kwa nini umelifanya ukawa na majibu mawili tu; ‘sijui’ au ‘si kina fulani ndo wamefanya’. Basi kuna majina mawili ambayo hawa watu huitwa mtaani, kama si bendera fuata upepo, basi ni boya (huwa linafuata maji yanapokwenda).
Yaani wewe mwenyewe huna sababu binafsi ya kufanya mambo unayofanya zaidi ya kuona wengine wamefanya ukafuata mkumbo tu. Ukiona mtu anafanya mambo dizaini hiyo, huyo hajitambui!
Tuulizane hapa leo kiroho safi tu; hivi unajitambua? Kama unadhani unajitambua endelea kujinoanoa hapa, ila ukiacha kusoma huu mchongo wewe ndo bado hujajitambua kabisa. Ngoja leo tupeane maujanja kuhusu kujitambua.
Binadamu ni viumbe wenye utashi mkubwa unaotupa uwezo wa kufikiri na kufanya maamuzi juu ya maisha yetu ya kila siku. Maamuzi husababisha maisha kusonga mbele au kurudi nyuma. Maamuzi hutokana na tabia. Tabia hujengwa kutokana na fikra na mtazamo ulionao juu ya maisha.
Tabia ni kitu kinachojijenga kwa muda mrefu kutokana na mazingira, jamii inayokuzunguka, mila na desturi, uzoefu maishani na mengineyo. Lakini tabia hutegemea zaidi fikra. Fikra potofu huleta tabia na mtazamo mbovu juu ya maisha.
Kwa ufupi ni kuwa, fikra zako ndio maisha yako. Kubadilisha maisha huanzia kwenye kujenga fikra bora. Njia pekee ya kujenga fikra na mtazamo bora wa maisha yako ni kujitambua.
Kujitambua ni swala la msingi kwa mtu yeyote mwenye nia ya kusonga mbele kimaisha au kubadilisha kabisa muelekeo wa maisha yake. Mafanikio ya kudumu huja baada ya kujitambua.
Kujitambua kunaambatana na mambo mengi ya msingi, yakiwemo – mabadiliko ya fikra, mwenendo, maamuzi na malengo ya maisha.
Kwa mtu yeyote yule, katika umri wowote ule, kujitambua ndio mwanzo wa maisha bora. Huu ndio muda muafaka wa kubadilisha muelekeo wa maisha yako.

Umuhimu wa kujitambua

Kuna faida nyingi sana zinazotokana na kujitambua, chache kati yake ni hizi :

1. Kuishi maisha yaliyo kamili

Kujitambua kunakupa nafasi ya kupanga malengo kutokana na ndoto zako maishani. Malengo ndio msingi wa maendeleo. Tatizo ni kuwa wengi wetutumejawa na hofu, kutojiamini, kuiga, kutojua cha kufanya na kutofahamu umuhimu wa fikra zetu kwenye maisha ya kila siku. Kujitambua kunakupa ujasiri wa kupambana na vikwazo katika safari ya kutimiza ndoto zako.
Kwa ufupi, kujitambua ni mwanzo wa kuishi maisha yaliyo kamili, kifikra na kimtazamo. Unaweza kufanya mambo mengi bila kujitambua, lakini mafanikio yanayodumu hayaji kwa kubahatisha, bali kwa kuelewa njia madhubuti za kufanya mambo ili uweze kufikia malengo. Hii inawezekana kwa kuanza kujitambua.

2. Kutumia kila fursa ipasavyo

Fursa ziko kila sehemu, unachohitaji ni malengo madhubuti unayotaka kutimiza. Una utashi mkubwa na vipaji vingi vinavyoweza kutumika katika kutumia fursa mbalimbali na kuinua maisha yako. Njia pekee ya kuanza kufahamu uwezo wako mkubwa ni kujitambua. Kujitambua ni kufahamu fursa unazotaka kuzitumia kuendeleza maisha kwa kufanya yale  muhimu na kuacha yasiyo na tija kwako.

3. Kujiendeleza zaidi kifikra

Fikra zako zina mchango mkubwa sana katika kuendesha maisha yako. Ili kubadili maisha, ni lazima kubadili fikra. Kubadili fikra ni kitu cha kwanza na cha msingi.
Ili tuweze kufikia malengo, tunatakiwa kupanua wigo wa fikra zetu na kuona mbali zaidi ya leo na kesho. Hii inawezekana kwa kila mmoja wetu, ingawa si kazi rahisi.

4. Kuwa mchango mkubwa kwa jamii

Binafsi naamini – maisha huwa na maana zaidi kama kile unachofanya kitakuwa na mchango mkubwa kwa watu wengi zaidi.
Mtu anayejitambua huwa rasilimali muhimu kwa jamii. Mchango wake huwa chachu ya mabadiliko katika maisha ya wengi. Maendeleo huletwa na watu wenye mtazamo chanya zaidi juu ya malengo yao maishani. Nawe pia unaweza kama ukianza kujitambua.
Kujitambua ni jambo muhimu sana ili kuweza kufanikiwa kwenye maisha yako. Ni chaguo lako – kuchukua nafasi na kuweza kujitambua au kuishi maisha uliyozea na kuendelea kushabikia wale wanaotimiza ndoto zao kila siku.

Kujitambua ni nini?
Basi hapo warembo mshashika vioo mnajiangalia, sio kujitambua sura, ni deep zaidi.
Ni kufahamu tabia zako, hisia zako, nguvu na udhaifu, jinsi unavyofikiri na kutatua mambo, ambavyo vyote kwa ujumla wake vinatengeneza ‘image’ yako ya jinsi unavyojichukulia na kuwachukulia wengine pia.
Kujitambua hutusaidia kufanya maamuzi sahihi ya jinsi ya kukabiliana na misukumo mbalimbali toka kwa marafiki zetu, ndugu, jamaa na mazingira yanayotuzunguka.
Dalili za upungufu wa kujiamini
Mtu asiyejiamini mara nyingi hushindwa kujitegemea kimaamuzi na kusubiri watu wengine wamuamulie. Hiyo ina maana huna maamuzi binafsi huna msimamo. Hiyo hupelekea kutoheshimika kwenye jamii inayokuzunguka. Na kwa maana hiyo basi hata mahusiano na watu huwa mabovu.
Jinsi ya kujitambua
Kujitambua ni ujuzi. Hii ina maana kuwa unatakiwa kujifunza jinsi ya kujitambua na kufanyia kazi ujuzi huu kila siku ili uweze kuwa mkali wao katika masuala ya kujitambua.
Kwa nini kujitambua ni muhimu?
• Ni tabia ambayo inasaidia kutatua changamoto za kimaisha.

Ili kujitambua inatakiwa:
1. Kuwa na maamuzi binafsi. Fanya unachojisikia kufanya pasipo na nia ya kuwaumiza wengine au kuvunja sheria lakini bila ya kufuata mkumbo wa wengine wanachokifanya. Mfano: Kama washkaji zako wanapanga kwenda sehemu, na wewe hujisikii kwenda usilazimishe kwenda na wala usione aibu kuwaambia ukweli.
2. Chukua muda kutafakari kuhusu maisha yako ulipotoka, hapo ulipo na unapotaka kuwa na njia gani zitakusaidia kuwa bora zaidi.
3. Kuwa muwazi katika mambo unayoyafanya.
4. Usipende kuhukumu watu haraka kutokana na vitu wanavyovifanya bila kujua ni nini kilichowasukuma kufanya wanachokifanya.
