Fifteen years after making her musical debut, Jennifer Lopezwill receive the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
The pop superstar will be honored with the prestigious award at the annual ceremony on May 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, it was announced today.
J.Lo will also hit the stage to perform the official FIFAWorld Cup anthem “We Are One (Ole Ola)” with Pitbull, as well as her Max Martin-produced single “First Love” off her 10th album A.K.A., due June 17.
The Icon Award recognizes lifetime achievement and an artist’s remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music. Lopez becomes the fourth artist and the first woman, joining past recipients including Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Neil Diamond.
Other previously announced performers for this year’s show include John Legend, Jason Derulo, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, and OneRepublic.
